Thank you,
Julie and I would like to thank all of our faithful customers who loved and bred to Skip and Slide for all of these years. We would also like to thank everyone for the kind cards, letters, email and calls we received after his death. Even though we may not have know what to say, we appreciated them. Julie and I have always felt extremely blessed to own and enjoy him for so many years.
The end of November 2006 I noticed that he was stocking up and his belly was getting bigger. Our vet confirmed that the problem was cancer in his kidneys. We had 3 mares under lights and hoped to breed some of them to him before he died, that did not work out, he died January 3rd. My fear was that he would colic and I would have to put him down in severe pain. The day before he died I knew his time was near, but could not bring myself to doing it. He was in the round pen while I was filling water tanks, so I went in to see him and he walked over and stuck his head under my arm so I could rub him. It was almost as though he was telling me it was OK. He died the next day while I was at school. He did not struggle and looked like he just went to sleep. The vet said that he probably had congestive heart failure. I felt so relieved and blessed that he did not struggle and that I did not have to make the choice.

These pictures were take shortly before he got sick.
